Contributions


Our work is in progress, but it is based on a clear conception of its potential contributions. Our project is multidisciplinary, at the intersection of science education, cognitive science, and computer science. Our main goals are the following:

  1. To produce comprehensive, though mainly formative, characterization of an undergraduate science program that is based on an inquiry model of teaching and learning.
  2. To demonstrate, through software product development and studies of software use, how technology can be used to support inquiry-oriented undergraduate instruction.
  3. To demonstrate how research in cognition and education can be integrated into and support the development of educational software.
