The project interleaves classroom research and software development, each informing the other.
A major goal of the project is to produce three mature inquiry-oriented
software applications for beginning college-level instruction.
Four software development projects were initiated in the Spring of 1998. Early design
work was influenced by the results of the faculty interview research and by the project
team's extensive previous experience with educational software development.
